STN BBS Controls
The STN BBS is controlled through the use of relay logic and PID controllers. No PLC is required to operate the systems of wash and cure. Each of the sub-systems will have separate integral controls for their operation.

STN BBS Material Handling
The STN BBS transfers the pistons in a Stainless Steel basket throughout the process. Once the process has began the pistons will remain enclosed by the equipment until they are ready for packaging. In the washer the pistons are head up so that the wash and rinse solutions are not trapped. Baskets will allow for processing a range of sizes and will accommodate long-eared or long skirted pistons.

Baskets are loaded manually, either at the beginning of the process or at the end of the machining process.   Pistons are placed dome up in Stainless Steel wire baskets that will hold the parts throughout the process. The baskets are placed onto the feed conveyor of the washer and will be automatically loaded into the washer.

The STN BBS Process
The process design is for the baskets to travel into the washer, automatically, having been grabbed by the conveyor chains of the washer. Process flow is wash, drain, rinse, drain, DI Mist and blow-off. These steps are carried out by the automation of the washer.
The exit of the wash line enters into the application room, where the coating is applied. Parts exiting the room return in the direction of travel from which they came through a cure oven and then through a cool down chamber for handling.
